Nordjyske Medier is a company based in North Jutland, Denmark. The agency works with online news, newspapers, and radio. Task set:

Editors preparing news releases needed a large amount of visual information to be used in their work. Therefore, each editor workplace was equipped with videowall under direct control of operator, allowing him to quickly and conveniently change information, creating sources on the fly.

Other tasks included equipment of several workrooms with video walls showing current, up-to-date information from the company's systems, along with news and selections. It was supposed to manage the data on these walls remotely or use mobile terminals right from the room.
In parallel with these tasks, the company planned to equip its office with corporate digital signage for the entrance group, cafeteria, CSR room, and office navigation. The question was about managing the entire visualization system in the office and optimizing maintenance costs.

SOLUTION

After careful selection, comparison, and validation, the Polywall Enterprise platform was selected as the office visualization management system. The ability to create "virtual rooms" made it possible to give each editor a dedicated interface to the content of only his videowall, arrange mobile terminals in other rooms and provide the administrator a tool to control visualization on digital signage screens. We present you our new visualization project for the state oil company SOCAR in Azebaijan

A foreword about the company for which we did this solution.

The State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is a national oil and gas company headquartered in the capital Baku. The center is an operations center for production monitoring, rapid response and crisis management. It is also used by the customer's team to conduct executive meetings, practice emergency scenarios and drills, and hold various conferences.

This project was awarded: INAVATION AWARD FINALIST 2022

THAT WE IMPLEMENTED:

The multifunctional imaging center can work as a single space, but is also divided into zones to address the requirements and different tasks of the customer. In the center of the space is a large boardroom area, which serves as the main space for high-level executive meetings, hosting large groups of delegates, and large meetings with international partners. The space can be used for on-site meetings or in a hybrid format where some participants connect remotely and have the following capabilities:

A 5x2 video wall built from ten Mitsubishi 70HE120 projection cubes;
CRESTRON matrix switcher;
Video wall management software Polywall PRO, complete with controller Datapath with 12 input and output ports;
Two FLIPBOX 75" interactive panels;
Wolfvision document camera;
Six upscale staff workstations.

The boardroom area also includes delegate workstations equipped with personal motorized displays and a SHURE MXC640 conference system designed specifically for SOCAR. The Polymedia Azerbaijan team configured the room into a special COVID-19 mode, where the meeting room table equipment can be adjusted to meet the correct social distance requirements.

The audio system is represented by Yamaha VXL1B-8 line array speakers with Extron XPA2004 amplifier and integrated with Polycom video conferencing system.

The visualization center helped to increase the customer's efficiency, control various operations, and hold international level meetings. At present, the customer is successfully using the visualization center for various tasks, including:

Conducting executive meetings both in person and in hybrid mode;
Monitoring of production activities at several production facilities (diesel fuel production and control of all parameters involved in the technological process);
Monitoring of gas deliveries and transportation to customers and partners;
Monitoring and control of the oil exploration process.

Polywall has a browser-based operator console - Polywall Designer - with a LIVE video wall background image (up to 30 frames per second) that runs on any OS - Windows, MAC, Linux. Polywall Personal VR Control Room is an innovative executive-level personal control room in a VR environment. It redefines the way decision-makers use data from remote video walls and workstations across geographically dispersed control centers, NOCs, and SOCs, all without the need for physical presence.

The solution addresses the growing number of control rooms used by modern organizations. Multiple large video walls, displaying critical real-time data, numerous operators who manage processes from multi-monitor workstations, often spread across various control rooms nationwide or globally, and BI systems, producing dashboards with vast amount of information - all posing a great challenge for heads of departments to control and monitor, and top managers to make data-driven decision making.

With Polywall Personal VR Control Room companies around the world can equip their decision makers with truly borderless situational awareness and stunning visual experience complemented with unbounded VR room customizations. By building personal VR control rooms, it becomes possible to bring interactive video walls, dashboards, and cameras into one convenient place, accessible in no time.

The solution is available both as part of existing Polywall projects and as a standalone offering. The new STANDARD+ license is a cost-effective solution for control rooms in dedicated networks, with one or several small to medium-sized video walls and information screens. The new license type allows live streaming from multiple remote workstations with high-quality live video streams without the need for any encoding / decoding hardware. With such features as Display-over-IP, Application-over-IP, or Device-over-IP, users of Polywall are completely flexible in defining what exactly is subject to streaming. Wide quality settings, simple or advanced modes for users with different knowledge levels, low-latency options, and other features make this tool the best choice for arranging a really flexible AV-over-IP network based on software, without any AV-over-IP hardware.

The browser engine in Polywall 3.10 has been completely rebuilt, using the latest Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF) — an industry-standard for secure, stable, and high-performance embedded browsers.

This upgrade makes Polywall a go-to solution for environments where real-time dashboards or other browser objects are displayed directly on video walls.

1.1. Session Persistence: No More Re-logins, Faster Dashboards

Credentials, tokens, and preloaded data persist as long as the video wall PC is active — improving load speed and user experience.
When re-opening a particular dashboard, the browser resumes the previous session, avoiding login prompts and reloading delays.
Sessions remain active even after a layout switch or browser window is closed.
Login to one dashboard is used to all dashboards under the same account, so the complete layout of multiple dashboards needs just 1 set of credentials entered

Whether you’re switching between 10 or 30 dashboards, the session is maintained until the workstation is rebooted or the server terminates it — making work smoother and dramatically faster.

1.2. Multiple Profiles Support: Keep Settings and Simultaneously Share Content from Different Profiles

Polywall now supports multiple named browser profiles with stored logins, scaling preferences, plugins, and unique configurations.
Assign different dashboards to different profiles based on access level or function. The same dashboard can be shown on the video wall several times with different credentials.
Ideal for shared environments where various roles access dashboards with distinct credentials and permissions.
Incognito mode for sensitive credentials and data

Example: Use one profile for internal monitoring tools, and another for public-facing dashboards — each with its own saved sessions and visual tuning.

Many web dashboards aren’t optimized for 4K or large-resolution video walls. The new browser profiles in Polywall 3.10 store individual scaling preferences per domain, so dashboards always appear pixel-perfect and readable — no blurry text, no weird alignments.

Browser-based dashboards have become the default interface for data. And virtually every major video wall software vendor now supports browser integration in some form — but not all solutions are created equal.

SSO is available in Polywall PRO, PRO+, and ENTERPRISE license tiers, where advanced access control and role-based user management are mission-critical.

3. Video & Image Playlist Source: Now More Versatile

In Polywall 3.10, the Playlist Source has been significantly upgraded. Previously limited to video files, this source type can now include both videos and images — making it a powerful tool for creating dynamic content carousels on video walls.

With the updated playlist engine, you can now add video files (e.g. MP4, AVI), add image files (e.g. PNG, JPG), arrange them in the desired sequence and automatically cycle through the content on a video wall.

Use the built-in Playlist Source tool to:

Create a new Playlist Source
Select and add any combination of videos and images
Define the playback order and timing (images default to 10 seconds each)

6.1. Critical Security Patch: CVE-2024-48510 Mitigated

Polywall previously used this component to handle layouts (Scenes and Scenarios). In version 3.10, we've fully replaced the vulnerable archiving engine, mitigating the issue.

If you're running older versions of Polywall, we strongly recommend updating to 3.10
Customers under active support contracts will receive this update free of charge.
For those outside warranty coverage, the update is available via extended support packages through your integration partner.

This is not just a best practice — it’s a critical update for any organization concerned with cybersecurity hygiene, especially if Polywall is part of a partially or fully accessible network.

6.2. Datapath "No Signal" Window: Fully Customizable Appearance

Previously, when a Datapath capture card encountered an empty input, users saw a default green-screen message with the words “NO SIGNAL” — often disruptive on a live video wall.

In Polywall 3.10, this behavior is now customizable:

Change background color (from green to black, grey, or brand-themed colors)
Customize or remove the “No Signal” text
Match your video wall fallback state with your environment's aesthetics

This feature was added by request from enterprise users who wanted cleaner, less distracting fallback visuals on wall-mounted displays.

Across enterprises and public agencies, digital transformation has made data the operating system of the organization. Business intelligence (BI) platforms like PowerBI, turn raw operational data (inventory, logistics, production, transactions) into actionable dashboards for monitoring and decision-making.

Two shifts define today’s control room reality:

Dashboard explosion. The most recent change, accelerating over the past five years, is the rise of self-service BI. In 2025, Polywall's development was guided by a key reality: control rooms are no longer static AV spaces. Last year, digital transformation finally reached a tipping point: changes in the way how companies operate began to unfold exponentially, spreading worldwide in an avalanche-like manner. By 2025, data monitoring had overtaken process monitoring in most newly deployed control rooms.

We addressed this shift by systematically enhancing the user experience and expanding our toolset to ensure seamless, comfortable interaction with dashboards, whether through persistent multi-dashboard visualization on-site or secure remote interaction beyond the control room walls via Polywall Lens.

New Case Study: Control Rooms Modernization for a Government Law Enforcement Organization

We are thrilled to share a new success story highlighting the role of Polywall video wall software in modernization of three control rooms for a government organization in Chile. The project focused on upgrading an existing control room environment and expanding operations across multiple locations using the Polywall platform.

The organization required a scalable and consistent solution to modernize its control rooms, improve display capacity, and ensure reliable integration of CCTV feeds, video conferencing, web-based monitoring tools, and operator desktops.
